England posted thoughts in Winter that basically cover Winter and Spring, (and didn’t post any thoughts in the Spring), so this post will combine Winter and Spring 1910.

England: Build A edi, Waive 1 useable build

Winter 1910 GM Observations

England’s build at least leaves open the option of attacking France. E/F would have a hard time breaking through against A/I. Italy is practically locked up and Austria can stalemate in the east as well.

Another option (if England is devoted to France) is that E/F figures out a way to get Austria to take over Italy. I don’t think Austria would do it. I could be wrong, but I think Austria is riding with Italy no matter what.

England

This game could easily end in a 4-way if nothing changes.  So, I am going to once again pull back from an attack to try to shake things up.  I need to make it clear my intent is to offer Italy to Austria at no risk so we can reduce the draw to 3.  I am building an army to send to Holland for defense and foregoing the other build.

Spring 1910 GM Observations

England has backed off some and indicated to Austria to attack Italy. Will Austria actually do it? I doubt it, but it is possible. If I was France, I would feel nervous that this will turn into an A/E 2-way draw. But perhaps not. England could definitely attack France, but then France has no incentive to continue to hold off Austria. England needs France because England doesn’t have enough armies to hold off Austria. I didn’t see this when I thought England may attack France and go for a solo, but here we are, at a point where they need each other. I suppose if England had chose better earlier and got into Naples, it may be a different situation. Now, it will likely be either a 4-way draw or A/E/F.

France

Fully focus on the east, and hopefully, England remains allied……

because, I do not see how we could grow against AI
When ION is occupied by Italy, we will not get any access in the south, and also in the North, I see a stale mate, and vice versa.

4-way draw is fine for me

Italy

So now it’s just back to the Ionian to serve as a buffer until Austria decides I’m expendable. Some games just go that way. It’s not as if there’s any real choice; any attempt to do anything less passive and A would turn on me at once.

It looks like we will all be home for Christmas! A 4-way is on the cards.

From my calculations, I can hold my line and I hope Italy can see clearly how to hold his.

I will help Italy to ION, and from there it should be clear.

I don’t see any way Italy can advance and I can’t see where I can either – but, I’ll take a final final look before setting to NOW.

A slight update to plans – let’s see if we can make some progress in the north.

I do expect however, knowing the experience level here, that we are set for a 4-way. My bits are set, for now!
