Winter 1914 (Builds) – It’s not looking so great for me

Developments: Austria attacked Italy, but it probably won’t matter
- I think Austria sensed that if he did not come into the endgame as strong as possible, he might eventually get eliminated by Turkey and Italy. I was starting to think about that myself – that if I reached 17 and got stuck, I might be able to get the draw down to 4 or 3 players. Austria would be the one to go if the game were reduced to a 3-way draw. But with Austria keeping Italy down, Italy won’t have any units to spare and eliminate Austria.
Strategic thoughts: 10% chance of winning
- There were no big mistakes here. Austria will get an army build and will have enough units in place to hold the stalemate line. Italy has the fleets in position to stop me. There will have to be some major mistake for me to win. I feel less optimistic than before.
Orders: fleet build
- Build a fleet at Kiel.
- I have nothing better to do. Additional armies won’t help at this point. There’s maybe a small chance I’ll decide to let Italy into Belgium and need to guard North Sea or something. Maybe if I get lucky, I’ll somehow thread fleets through into the Mediterranean (I doubt it).
